Tried these instead of the silicone laces I’ve had in the past. Great quality, and easy to thread as well. A tip is to pull more through than you need and cut the laces at an angle so it’s easier to thread them through the buckle clasp, then cut them down after you’ve threaded them. Especially if you don’t have a lighter to hand to singe the edges. Great colour choices, matched my shoes well
My new trainers came with standard black laces. I wanted laces which matched the soles which are off white. I stumbled upon these and thought I'd give them a try plus the idea of turning them into slip ones really appealed to me. We'll all I can say is I'm never going back to normal laces now. They are so comfortable and easy to put on now! I would suggest to not lace them at all tightly and put your feet in and adjusting them before committing to cutting the ends. Also I found it hard to put the ends into the clasps after I sealed them, but found a pair of tweezers helped push them inside.
I was a bit skeptical at first, however they are fantastic and look great. It was really straight forward too.I would recommend burning the ends with a lighter to stop fraying before you lock them in the grip.Hopefully they will last my 2 week trip to Florida.
I’ve had lock laces before and also systems like this that convert full length laces to a buckle or lock system. These laces were 99cm each. They are a little stretchy which makes them perfect for this system. The buckle has teeth which holds everything in place. The video on the Amazon listing show how you should melt the end of laces to stop fraying but I wiped the ends of mine with a little bit of Gorilla glue I then let them dry before putting the buckle on and that worked fine. Spend time and effort getting the width of the lace correct up and down the length of the shoe to maximise comfort as there is no going back once they are cut.I had the black laces which I think look smart as well as making my converse quick and easy to put on.
I was a little concerned when these arrived as the Teezy laces were about a third shorter than the trainer laces I wanted to replace - but due to their elastic nature and the fact you don't need the longer lace to tie them they fit just fine, in fact I had to trim quite a bit off. It was a bit uncomfortable taking the sissors to a new item I'd just received but it all worked out fine. I trimmed them in stages to fit, to make sure I didn't cut off too much - As you can see in the photo. I will say using a pair of tweezers to pull the laces through the buckle was helpful. The laces are very elastic so you don't really need to undo them but you can easily unclip and clip them again with the buckle.I think the buckle colour could match the laces a bit better but its a very minor thing, overall very happy with them, they work just as you'd hope and I may buy a couple of other pairs based on this pair. At just over five pounds they seem fair value for a product that works well.
