How to fit TEEZY No-Tie Shoe Laces!
Installing TEEZY No-Tie Shoe Laces is simple and should take no longer than a couple minutes to achieve the perfect fit. Once installed, the buckle can remain attached so they will turn any shoe into slip-ons. No more shoe struggles and loose laces! In this guide we will break down the 5 easy steps of installation and provide all the information you need to fit our elastic laces like a pro!
Step 1 - Lace Up Your Shoes
Remove the traditional shoe laces from your shoes, then starting from the bottom eyelet, thread the elastic lace through the eyelets in a crisscross pattern, just like regular laces. Use one lace per trainer.
Remember to leave some slack to allow for stretch. To start, you want to aim for a very loose fit. The tightness can be adjusted in later steps.
Step 2 - Adjust To Fit & Trim
Place your foot in the shoe and adjust the slack in the laces. Ensure the laces are snug but not too tight, allowing for easy slipping on and off. Once you are happy with the tightness, trim off the excess lace with scissors, leaving approximately 2-3cm from the top eyelet. The larger your shoe size, the more excess you may have to leave.
Be careful not to trim off too much lace. Start by leaving more and you can always go back to this step to remove more if the shoe laces are too loose.
Step 3 - Secure The Shoelace Ends
Using a lighter, secure the ends by briefly burning the end of the laces. This will prevent fraying and ensure the buckle grabs the full width of the shoelace so it will not rip or come loose.
This step is essential with our Original and Splash range. Due to the material used in Accelerator, this step is only optional.
Step 4 - Insert The Clasps
Unlock the buckle so you are left with two clasps. Open the prongs of each clasp and insert the shoe lace ends. Press down the prongs to grab the laces and then reconnect the buckle.
Make sure the shoe laces are inserted right up to the back of the claps to allow for any stretch in the laces. This will prevent them from coming loose over time.
Step 5 - Final Checks
Your TEEZY laces are now installed. We would recommend wearing your trainers for at least 30 minutes and taking a short walk before adjusting further.
If you are happy with the fit but the buckle is too loose, disconnect it and open the prongs to remove it from the shoe lace ends. Trim off slightly more lace (approx. 5mm), secure it with a lighter and re-attach the prongs, then reconnect the buckle.
Remember: You can always trim off more lace to reach your desired fit, but you can't add it back on! 😃
